The biggest difference: prices vs probabilities
Every crypto bubble — on either product — answers some version of "what is this asset doing?": price, performance, market cap, volume. Why prediction markets look different
A prediction market is organized around an event: "Will X happen?", "Who will win?", "Will inflation exceed X?". A contract that pays $1 if the answer is yes trades at some price — say 63¢ — and that price reads as the market's implied probability. It moves when people trade, which is why the 24-hour change on a prediction bubble is measured in probability points rather than percent. "BTC is up 4.2%" and "this outcome moved from 55% to 63%" are fundamentally different statements — the first is an asset repricing, the second is a crowd changing its mind about the future.
